One-to-one coaching for professionals, especially leaders and managers, with practical AI fluency when you need it.
Get in touchWhat people bring.
Most people come to coaching because something has shifted: the role, the pressure, the organisation, or the way the work itself gets done.
A new or bigger role
Stepping up, and working out what leading actually asks of you.
Pressure and decisions
Carrying a lot, and wanting to think more clearly under it.
Leading people through change
Restructures, new strategies, uncertain markets.
Direction
A career that works on paper but no longer feels quite like yours.
AI arriving in your work
Using it well yourself, and leading its adoption without hype.
Leadership, not just management
Moving from running things to shaping them.
I work with professionals of all kinds, and especially with leaders and managers in expert-led and knowledge-based organisations.
How I help.
Leading yourself through change
Staying grounded when the ground is moving. Coaching on confidence, resilience and judgement when roles, organisations or the wider world are shifting, so that change is something you lead rather than something that happens to you.
Good fit if: You're in transition, under sustained pressure, or sense that the way you've always worked won't carry you through what's next.
Judgement, decisions and leadership
Thinking clearly, deciding well and leading people, not just managing work. What's yours to lead, what to delegate, and how to bring others with you.
Good fit if: You're capable and busy, and want space to step back and think before the next big call.
AI in your own work and your team
How you personally use AI in research, thinking, writing and decisions, and how you lead its adoption in your team without importing hype or losing rigour. Where it helps, direct practical input on tools and systems; the coaching stays the primary work.
Good fit if: AI is landing in your work or organisation and you want to be a capable user in your own right, and to lead it well.
About.
I'm Chris Millwater, founder of Onconsult AI. What I bring is an unusual combination: medicine, business, psychotherapy and hands-on AI.

I'm a doctor and a consultant in pharmaceutical medicine. I trained as an oncologist and have spent over 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry, the last 20 as an independent pharmaceutical physician, working on clinical development, regulatory strategy and due diligence for companies including Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, AstraZeneca and GSK, and for biotechs across the US, Europe and Japan. I hold an MBA from the Open University and a Master in Finance from London Business School.
I'm also an integrative psychotherapist. Alongside the pharmaceutical work, I've spent many years mentoring leaders one-to-one: helping capable people think clearly under pressure, make better decisions and lead their people well. From January 2027 I'm formalising this through a recognised programme that trains psychotherapists as senior practitioner coaches, and from then I'll be taking coaching clients as part of that training.
For the last few years I've been applying AI to my own expert work, and running this practice with AI agents as genuine collaborators in research, drafting, planning and administration. So the AI side of the coaching comes from daily practice, not theory.
Full background on LinkedInChange goes better when it starts with the person, not the tool.
How I work.
Coaching, not consulting.
The work is helping you think clearly and decide well, not doing your thinking for you. Direct input is welcome where it serves that; where it would replace your own judgement, it doesn't help.
The person before the tool.
Whether the change is a new role, a restructure or AI, it goes better when it starts with how you actually think, decide and lead. The tools and tactics follow, and are chosen better.
Practical, not aspirational.
Real progress comes from what fits your actual work, not what a framework or case study says it should look like.
Confidential.
What we discuss stays between us. I don't put coaching conversations or client information into AI tools without your explicit agreement.
Coaching isn't therapy.
Coaching is focused on the present and on where you want to go. If something would be better served by therapy, I'll say so and help you find the right support.
